Thanks to the generous support of a Western Pennsylvania funder, the Fred Rogers Institute is pleased to announce Family Connection Groups.
In their first year, Family Connection Groups will bring together mothers of children ages 0-5 to share in their everyday experiences caring for their children. The groups are designed to build connection and community and offer grounding wisdom in the early years of motherhood. During sessions, we will draw from the legacy of Fred Rogers and discuss the Six Fundamentals of Learning and Growing (self worth, trust, curiosity, solitude, looking and listening carefully, and play) and how these connect to being a mom of young children. This is not a class, but an opportunity to connect with, and be supported by, other parents!
In the fall of 2026 we will run two Family Connection Groups for mothers of children ages 0-5:
Family Connection Groups will take place online via Zoom. We hope moms will engage in meetings however they are comfortable and able - at home with a child on your lap, at work on a lunch break, or in the car driving to work. Meetings will take place on the dates below.
Westmoreland County group participants are also invited to four in-person playdates at the Fred Rogers Institute in Latrobe, PA:
This program is free to join, but space is limited! Fill out this interest form by August 15, 2025 to sign up for this first come, first served opportunity. We will notify everyone regarding the status of interest forms by September 1, 2025.
