Our Team

Dr. Sierra Dinges is an educator, researcher, author, and advocate for young children, families, and the people who support them. Throughout her career, she has served as an early childhood teacher, elementary educator, program director, researcher, and higher education faculty member, working across classrooms, community programs, and educator preparation. She is particularly passionate about connecting research, policy, and practice in ways that are meaningful and accessible to educators and families. As a mother, educator, and scholar, she is committed to strengthening systems that support young children while empowering educators to find joy, purpose, and possibility in their work.

Dr. Dinges's passion for playful learning, responsive relationships, and child-centered practice inspires her work. She believes that meaningful learning begins with curiosity, connection, and a deep respect for children's ideas, strengths, and voices. Through her work in educator preparation and professional learning communities, she seeks to create opportunities for reflection, collaboration, and growth that ultimately benefit children and families.

Since joining Educators' Neighborhood in 2020, Dr. Dinges has been an active member of the Fred Rogers Institute community. She was a member of the inaugural cohort of Inquiry Researchers and has contributed to Institute initiatives, including the Archive Study and the Deep Dive Study. Through presentations rooted in the philosophies of Fred Rogers, Dr. Dinges has shared research and practical insights related to teaching, child development, parenting, and early childhood systems.
